We got to fly after a long wait for a launchable window in the shade from the clouds that were blowing out into the valley from the back in the nothern winds. Once the window appeared there was some nice flying to be had for a little more than an hour before conditions shut down again.
I flew for 45 minuters from Monte Grappa while the clouds were growing rapidly. It started raining not long after i had landed.
Nice flying in Bassano but there was plenty of nasty looking clouds in over the alps.
A beautiful morning in the south of France was made even nicer by a sled run in the morning from the south start at St. André. In the late afternoon we took off from the west side and had an awesome flight with nice smooth and strong lift to cloud base even as late as 8pm. Good lift, not much wind and nice smooth conditions on the lz. Two flights in one day and a long walk up to get the car made this a good but exhausting day. I slept well.
After the long trip south in really bad weather we arrived at Larange on wednesday evening. Thursday morning looked better but the wind direction and strenght wasn’t the best. We went up to Chabre hoping to be able to take off from the north side but it was allready beginning to look iffy and after seeing a number of scary launches we left for St. André. There the mistral was blowing hard but the food was good..
We just about managed to squeeze in a flight before the cold front arrived. This is a nice little site and i really enjoyed flying here.
We visited some of the flying sites in the Trier area. The sites looked really nice but there was way too much wind and rain showers to fly.
